New measures for all the areas of Greece

FacebookTwitterEmailShare

Everyone was anxiously waiting for the speech of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis as all decisions affecting not only our way of life, but also the physical exercise. Specifically, it was announced that:

The division of the areas into 4 levels stops. The areas are now divided into three categories, these with high risk (red and orange areas), these under surveillance (yellow and green areas) and areas in lockdown (grey areas such as Thessaloniki and Serres). At the third category areas the citizens have to send sms
for moving outdoor (from 21.00 to 05.00 in the morning are allowed only for work and health reasons).

Especially for running and physical exercise:

In the lockdown areas (Thessaloniki, Serres) are allowed only individual sports after a sms sending (only within the hours 5: 00-21:00).

At all the areas “High risk”, that is all the north part of Greece and also to Attiki, gyms and indoor sports facilities are going to be closed. Individual sports are allowed in open facilities and outdoor public spaces, but without the presence of a coach.

The areas “under surveillance” gyms and sports venues will continue to operate with all the protection measures in force so far. Especially for running, the stadiums will remain open with a limited number of visitors per hour or with appointment (in some Municipalities).

The same measures as sports venues are expanded for all the centers of entertainment and culture, such as bars, cafes, cinemas, museums and theatres. The restriction of traffic continues but now it is applying from 12:00 in the evening until 5:00 in the morning (something that you should keep in mind during your individual exercise outside the home).

All the above measures will be valid for all the November starting from Tuesday (3-11-2020).
